Guitar George is...
Guitar George is a British guitarist/entertainer with plenty of experience for someone in his early twenties. He can boast radio and television performances with both British and Spanish broadcasters, including features on Spain's Channel 55, CBBC Blue Peter, BBC1 with Graham Norton, BBC2 with Brian Conley and three appearances on ITV1's Dancing On Ice. This is backed up with live work at theatres, festivals, holiday camps, and cruise ships adding shows to his CV from Spain, France and across Britain. He is also endorsed by Sfarzo Strings USA.
Companies, venues and organisations George has previously worked with include: ITV, BBC, P&O, Thomsons, Pontins, Tallink Cruises, Potters Leisure Resort, Island Cruises, Searles Leisure Resort, DFDS Seaways, The Grand Order of the Water Rats, Park Resorts, Birmingham NEC, Benidorm Palace, Lion TV, Palais De Congres (Versailles), Norwich City FC, Lakeside Country Club and Anglia TV.
After being given a toy guitar aged 18 months old it all began properly aged 6 when George's parents saw an add for guitar lessons in a shop window. A year of classical guitar lessons later George's dad bought him an early christmas present...an electric guitar! Three more years of classical/flamenco and electric guitar lessons followed before aged 10 the family moved from Spain back to the UK. At this point George made his first television appearance on the BBC's legendary children's TV show 'Blue Peter'.
Over the following years with great support from his parents he performed at venues around Britain, France and Spain. Aged 15 George became one of the UK's youngest cabaret performers after being asked to perform for Pontins Holiday Parks and along with being one of their most consistently booked artists there also added many other holiday resorts around the East Anglian coast to his CV.
Alongside regularly gigging, George also completed a National Diploma in music, passing with a triple distinction followed by two years studying musical theatre. Balancing study with regular gigs as a solo artist, with local function bands and even TV appearances he gained the dubious title of being BBC3's 52nd most annoying TV moment of 2008. This was after performances of his unicycle show on BBC1, BBC2 and ITV1's Dancing on Ice where he could be seen unicycling, playing guitar and singing....on ice!
In the summer of 2011 George went on his first sea voyage with a 3 month cruise around the Mediterranean and has over the following 3 years worked with P&O, Thomson's Cruises, DFDS Seaways, Brittany Ferries and Tallink. Along with working in the Alps with 'The Be Sharps' he has visited Scandinavia, The Baltics, The Mediterranean and most ports in Northern Europe in his career so far.
After being based in the East Anglian region since the age of ten, at the beginning of 2014 he moved to London. He is now first choice guitar/vocalist for 9 piece band 'Star', one of London's most established corporate party bands and can be seen regularly performing with them at many of London's most exclusive hotels, including 'The Savoy', 'The Dorchester' and 'Grosvenor House'.
Rapidly establishing himself as a first choice professional vocalist and guitarist, George is always on the look out for new opportunities. If you need a vocalist, a guitarist or a saxophonist don't hesitate to get in touch.
